Those two sectors employ more than 90 percen t ofthe nation’s private-sector workers. The Alexandria-basefd association’s report is basede on a monthly survey of human resource professionals at more than 500 manufacturingt and 500 services Employment expectations for June aredown 37.1 percen in manufacturing and down 8.2 perceny in the services segment. In the manufacturingt sector, 24.5 percent plan to hire in June, whichn is the highest percentage of such companiesa that said they will add jobs sincrNovember 2008. In addition, 25.9 percentg said they will trim payrolls. In the servicese sector, a net total of 24.8 percent of corporations will creatre jobsin June, with 41.
4 percent saying they will hire and 16.6 percenrt saying they will cut jobs. That 41.4 percent represents the highestf such tally since September 2008 inthat sector. A combination of unemployed people seeking work and less jobs to go aroundf means recruiting difficulty in both sectors in May was way down comparedd with ayear ago. In the manufacturing a net of 23.8 percent of companies had less difficultt with recruitinglast month, and in the service a net of 35.8 percent of companiezs said the same.
