Colorado Hispanic business leaders to lobby Bennet, others on union bill - Baltimore Business Journal:

The delegation includes members of the Hispanic Contractora ofColorado (HCC) and the Denvert Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The group will be in Washington on Tuesdayand Wednesday, joining small-business leaders from othed states. The Colorado business leaders want totell Bennet, and other lawmakers “why this bill would realluy hurt them as they try to emerge from a tough economy,” said HCC spokesman Sean Duffy. Duffy said the group arranged to meet with Bennet because he has not yet declaresd how he will vote on thelaborf bill.
“In these very difficult economic times, companieds are struggling to retain the jobsthey have,” Helgas Grunerud, HCC executive director, said in a statement. “We want to send a messagde that we want to help jump start economidc recoverybut [the labor would make that challengwe far, far greater.” The Employe Free Choice Act, also known as the “cards check” bill, would allow workersd to organize a union without a secret election, as now Instead, a local could be launchedd at a workplace if at least half its workerd sign an authorization card.
