Montoya adds that the breadtjh ofthe college’s research is wide, and many effortsd involve only a single faculty member. Projects involve variousa disciplines, including alternative energy, privacy and security, health care and transportation. “Wed have a broad-scoped faculty looking at a numberr ofdifferent areas,” Montoyas says. Funding for these researcgh projects comes from a varietyof sources, including federal grants, private corporate funding and internal sources. NCSU’s College of Management boasts 100 faculty membersand 3,2321 students.
It offers undergraduate and master’s programs in business accountingand economics, a master’s program in globak innovation management and a Ph.D. program in economics. Montoyz was born in Fort Worth, Texas. She was raised in various locales, including Colorado, South Carolina and Michigan. She attendex Michigan State University, where she received bachelor’s and doctoraol degrees. Montoya began her career as a desighn engineer at Allied Signal before obtainingher Ph.D. in marketint and statistics from MSU.
After graduate Montoya moved to North Carolina and joines North Carolina State University as an assistant professor in the Collegd of Management before being named anassociatre professor. She then became the Zelna k Professor ofMarketing Innovation. The titls of assistant dean of research in the Colleged of Management was added to her responsibilitiesx a little more than twomonths ago. Bachelor’s degree in genera l engineering anda Ph.D. in marketingf and statistics from MichiganState University. Montoya has two Sheldon and Zachary. “I want to see us be able to providee more research support forour faculty,” Montoya says.
