Pentagon kills Boeing Future Combat Systems program - St. Louis Business Journal:

Boeing will now compete with other companiees to manage the successor programs to the Future Combatr Systems BrigadeCombat Team, a $160 billion Army modernization program, the Secretary of Defense Robert Gates had expressed concern about the prograj fielding new combat vehicles that “did not adequately reflecr the lessons of counterinsurgencyy and close quarters combat in Iraq and the defense department said.
